But we never explain why we treasure our secrets, how we're in love with our sadness sometimes

According to EW, Agent Gabriel Dean will be returning at the end of this month. "A LOVE CONNECTION ON RIZZOLI & ISLES? He made a quick — and sexy! — appearance in the series premiere of TNT's new Rizzoli & Isles. Now Billy Burke (who, of course, plays Bella's dad in the Twilight films) is back for more crime-fighting fun with series star Angie Harmon, and from the look of things, the sparks are definitely flying between Harmon's hard-striving Det. Jane Rizzoli and Burke's broody F.B.I. agent Gabriel Dean in the episode airing Aug. 30. But count on Rizzoli's serial-killing nemesis, Hoyt, to ruin the mood. —Kate Stroup" www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20385926_20404158,00.html Discuss?

I didn't really care for Agent Dean. And not just because he got between my girls. Maybe it's just because it was the pilot, but I just didn't like the character. I'm not really looking forward to him coming back.

I didn't care much for him either. It could have been because it was just one episode, but he didn't seem to be a real character--it was like he was just there to highlight the friendship between Maura and Jane.
Now, if he sends them into bed together again, I'll be okay with that...

I would definitely be fine with him sending them to bed together.
And you're right. He didn't seem like a real character. And like you said, it could just have to do with the fact that he was only in one episode and it was the pilot. And pilots tend to be a little off anyway. At least that's what I've noticed in the past.
(wow... could I have used the word 'and' anymore? lol)

I just didn't like him. Period. His personality bugged me and the fact that he could get in between the two girls that I am living vicariously through for the time being.

And from what I understand his character is kinda big in the books (I haven't read all of them yet, so I'm not positive about this), but they don't have to follow the books exactly. In fact, I would be totally fine if they didn't.

I can't help but think that bringing him back could be a great set-up to make him Bad Guy of the Week. Hoyt's new minion, perhaps? And besides, I'm sure it would be awfully upsetting for Jane to have to arrest the guy she's dating. She'd really need the affectionate support of her best friend after that. In bed.Wow, my maturity just plummeted approximately 10 years.

Psh. Who needs maturity? And if he came back as a main antagonist, that would be AWESOME! And then Maura and Jane...awwwwww. I didn't even realize that the series was based on books until I joined the forum. I'm guessing our two girls don't end up together in the end? :/

What is maturity? That would be totally epic-ly awesome if he was the bad guy. I would be extremely happy. And as far as I know they don't. It's sad I know. But maybe the writers aren't blind and can see that Sasha and Angie have crazy amazing chemistry and they will not follow the books. That would be ideal.

I don't think they're going to follow the books completely. It's REALLY HARD to turn books into a TV show and follow it exactly. Besides, there is no denying the chemistry they have. If my best friend and I had that much chemistry...hell we'd be making out on the couch right now.

Haha, my thoughts exactly. With the way they have set the show up to have a new case each week, it would be impossible for them to follow the books exactly. So, maybe they'll just use the characters and do whatever they want with them.

Though I haven't read them, I did read somewhere that Jane and Agent Dean are married in the books. And that Jane and Maura aren't really friends like they are on the show.
Blasphemy, I know.

Yeah that's what I've heard too. I'm almost finished with the first book (Maura isn't even in it. It's weird) so I'll let ya know when I get to the others.
I've also heard that the show was originally just going to be called 'Rizzoli' and Maura was going to be a minor character. But then they saw the amazing chemistry between Angie and Sasha and decided to make Maura a second lead. I'm very happy they went that route.

So am I! There really is just a TON of chemistry between them. I mean, I would be interested to see how they are with each other off-screen because they're just amazing on-screen.
