The Boston Marathon turns into a moving crime scene when a shooter begins targeting runners during the race. Jane and Maura, who had planned to compete in the race, instead find themselves racing to catch the killer before another runner goes down. The crowded and impassable city forces Jane and Maura to conduct their investigation on the ground and in secret so the hundreds of thousands of spectators don’t become casualties of a mass panic. Balthazar Getty (Brothers & Sisters) guest-stars. ( tnt.tv)

Ok. I've already had like 20 plot bunnies within the first 10 min.

I thought it was a really great episode. I loved the beginning and the ending. :] So cute. But I liked how this episode wasn't limited to the lab this time. :]

I wanted to puke by the end of the episode because of those pics of the rape victim. Like...I was pissed and sick to my stomach.

I thought it was a good episode, but not my favorite. The identity of the killer was predictable, and it seemed like Jane was unnecessarily rude to Maura throughout the whole thing. Post-ep fic, anyone? Please?

I thought it was a good episode, but not my favorite. The identity of the killer was predictable, and it seemed like Jane was unnecessarily rude to Maura throughout the whole thing. Post-ep fic, anyone? Please? I don't necessarily agree that the killer was predictable - it wasn't knock me out of my seat surprising, but I thought that the actual motive was a very slow development. It took a long time for them to even get to that part of the story, and even when they discovered the open case, it wasn't clear who precisely was committing the murders. Knowing about the open case, actually, I would have put my money on the victim, had she not been dead, not her sister. I agree with Maura and Jane's interactions, though. I feel like Jane made a lot of comments that were really harsh, and a lot of comments that really needed to be explained why she felt the way she did. She never apologized to Maura (nor did Maura seem as affronted as she should have), and they never explained some of Jane's more adamant moments. I'm hoping that they aren't doing a 180 on Jane and Maura's relationship, because it's been fabulous to watch so far. Someone made this comment, on the news from Sasha's twitter that she and presumably Angie are aware of the Rizziles shippers, that she hoped their knowledge of the strong fanbase that's developed around this pairing doesn't discourage them from continuing with it. Though, they would have taped this episode before that tweet and all the hype, so I could totally be blowing hot air.

I liked the episode. There were a few funny moments that literally made me giggle. I agree with Maura and Jane's interactions. I really hope this doesn't become a regular thing. I don't think that the comment on twitter had anything to do with it. Because they would have taped it before that. Once we found out about the rape victim, I figured that it would either be her or a sibling. I assumed that if it was a sibling it would be a brother, not a sister, so I was kind of suprise by that. I was just really happy for an excuse to see Sasha in skin tight clothing again

When I said that the killer was predictable, I was drawing upon my own professional experience. I work with rape victims and secondary victims, and it seems like it's almost always the family member(s) who wants to exact violent revenge on the perpetrator(s).
And you worded Jane and Maura's interactions much better than I did. It very much seemed like there was a cute R/I-over-drinks scene at the end where they "make up" even though, like you said, Maura didn't seem as offended as I felt she should have been. Hell, I think I was more offended than Maura was.

I think she should have been more offended too. But maybe she's just used to Jane's moodiness and ignores it. That's what I'm going with. That it's something that has happened before in their friendship and Maura just lets Jane do her thing. I hope that makes sense.

It seemed like more than just moodiness to me. Moodiness was when Jane stormed out of her own office when Maura wouldn't divulge classified information. But there were a couple of times, if I recall, that she was outright yelling at Maura. I just would have liked to have seen some groveling...

Yeah, now that I think about it, she was yelling. And I could understand that she was stressed about having to find a killer in the middle of a marathon, but there was no reason for her to yell at Maura. I need to rewatch this episode and pay closer attention. I was half-asleep when I watched it yesterday. Lol.
But I'm working on a fic right now...

I've only seen the episode once too. I had some time one evening at work, so I watched it then, but I had to stop and come back to it a few times. That will be my project for tonight or tomorrow--rewatch!
Ooh, fic...R/I fic?

Yup, yup I haven't had time to work on it a lot, but I will be able to tonight. I still haven't rewatched it. Lol. I haven't been home, but I am tonight so I should be able to watch it tonight or tomorrow morning.

I rewatched it last night before I finally fell asleep. I found Jane's behavior slightly less disturbing this time around, but I still felt it was lacking a make-up-"sorry I was cranky today" scene. Maybe if I'm feeling brave, I'll try to write it myself.

I rewatched it this morning and also didn't find her behavior quite as upsetting, but I agree that it needs a make up story. Which is in the works as I type this You should write one too! It would be fun to see different takes on the make up scene.
