Although I think it would be overkill on the "scalpels are weapons" front, I also think it would be poetically brilliant for Maura to have to harm someone, even in defense, with one. After Hoyt's "you're like me" subplot, I think it would be amazing for her to attack someone with his particular weapon of choice.

Good point! I think if she had to kill someone that would definitely play with her head for a while. Add to it that we now know her father is a killer too.

I completely agree. Even though she's already used a scalpel to harm someone (episode 2), so I'm kind of hoping they don't go that route. Maybe if there's some other tool laying around she could use that instead

I'm working on a little "Maura has to kill someone" fic at the moment, but I keep getting stuck every few paragraphs. It's extremely frustrating. I am glad though that, based on the pictures, Frost and Korsak will actually get to do something in this ep. I know it's not their show, but I really like them. Not enough to trade married Jane/Maura scenes for them though.  |

I'm curious now why Jane is unarmed. From the promo and the photos it looks like they're in Maura's lab so I would think that if Jane were down there she'd be on duty and armed. Hmmm...

Yeah, I feel the exact same way. This was basically the only episode I missed parts at because my dad was yelling at me so I missed 10 minutes in the beginning and middle.
I had a feeling something like that would happen...but I didn't think Jane would pull the trigger on herself..well, maybe she didn't but it looked that way.

No, that's how it looked to me too, but to be honest, I wasn't sure until her eyes closed whether she had been shot, or if someone else had fired off a shot, missed, and hit Maura. The slow-motion was really frustrating and confusing for me.

I loved this episode. Like a lot. Holy crap.
I'm 99% positive that Jane shot herself so that the bullet would be a through and through and get the guy too. And Maura's face! OMG! They are married. I'm not even gonna strike through it, because it's absolutely true. And I really loved Maura having to perform those procedures on Frankie even though she didn't have the tools, nor the proper training to do so.

The spoiler did say two main characters get shot. I wasn't sure if she'd done it until she hit the ground and you can see the blood on her shirt.
All I can say is WOW! Those last few minutes were torture but so will be waiting until next summer to find out what happens!!!

She definately shot herself in order to hit Bobby. I rewatched the show. Wow!!! I didn't expect that. Amazing way to end the season! I can't wait till next summer either.
When will they start shooting the new episodes? Anything you find guys keep us posted.
